Fibro Epithelial Polyps or Skin Tags

Fibro Epithelial Polyps, or Skin Tags as they are more commonly known, are small benign tumours that form primarily in areas where the skin forms creases, such as the neck, armpit, and groin.

They may also occur on the face, usually on the eyelids. It is thought skin tags grow where skin rubs against skin or clothing. This would explain why they tend to affect overweight people who have excess folds of skin and skin chafing. These skin tags are harmless and usually painless.

On the whole they are small, although some can appear up to 5cm long. Although they are small and fairly inconspicuous, they can cause problems as the polyps can be irritated when caught by clothing or jewellery or when shaving. I have been trained to remove skin tags and have seen how effective the treatment can be.
