Milia is very common in new-born babies, but can affect people of any age. Milia are the small, raised, white or yellow bumps you see on the skin. They mostly appear on the skin around the cheeks, nose, eyes and eyelids, forehead and chest, but they can appear anywhere on the body.
In babies no treatment is necessary as the condition will disappear over time. However, in adults Milia can be more stubborn and take longer to disappear and so treatment may be necessary. Especially if the spots appear on the face and cause the sufferer to feel self-conscious or uncomfortable about their appearance.
I have seen many cases of Milia treated successfully with either Advanced Electrolysis or Dermabrasion.
